Murchison Falls National Park

The Murchison Falls, also referred to as the Kabarega Falls, is a waterfall found on the course of the great Nile. The park is located in the northern region of the Albertine Rift Valley. This is the area where the huge Bunyoro escarpment joins together into the vast Acholi plains. The park is recognized as one of the best National parks in Uganda with a wild variety of game and scenery.

This local tour is ideal for a short, sweet holiday. It starts with a visit to the endangered species at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary followed thereafter by a drive through the national park to the top of the magnificent Murchison Falls where you will bask in the beautiful view until the sun goes down in a blaze of gold and red over the savannah. Activities include game drives, boat cruises, camping and storytelling among others.

Murchison is truly spectacular. Seeing the Nile funnel so explosively through that narrow cleft in the rift escarpment was like nothing I had ever seen. It was so loud I could barely hear myself think!
